Brace yourself

So just a quick note tonight. This weekend was busy for me, was supposed to work one day ended up working two.
Brenden had a hockey tournament in Anchorage, he went with good friends, who adopted him for the weekend, he had a blast.
Leia was sick, but feeling better now.
So, I realized I work over time....for braces and ice time. I can't wait until we pay off one of the vehicles!!! Although then there will be something else.

To Sara and Andra

So my one friends Sara is in Peru, she and her family of 4 became a family of 6 the other day. They are adopting a boy and girl. Sara and I met when we were 5!!! Our girls were in class together from preschool on until we moved to Alaska, she is such an awesome person....I miss her lots... she is the kind of person who would moon you if you were having a bad day just to make you feel better, and she taught Leia the fine art of making fart noises by inserting a straw in armpit and blowing...so you see why I love her!!
Andra, my other friend this blog is to is in China she and her family of 6 are missionaries in Hunchun (I have no idea if that is spelled right) I have known Andra since Leia was 5. Andra is an awesome woman too, her husband Jim always felt the calling to go into missions Andra got the calling in Wal-mart, when one of the kids were throwing a fit over some candy!! I miss her lots to.
I was just talking to Sara this morning in Peru, they will be there another 3 weeks, and I hope to talk to Andra at some point today.
I guess I am just having one of those "God, what do you want of me days?" I totally know it was His will for us to move here. We prayed about this, I am just looking at my friends lives and feeling like I should be doing more and I know that isn't right.
So Sara and Andra, I love you girls so very much and miss ya both like CRAZY!!! If we were together Sara, we could quote movies and drive Andra nuts, cuz she wouldn't know them!!

Dance

Leia has her first school dance this friday and I offered to champeron (or however it's spelled) she very quickly responded with a flat out "NO!". Now I know I am not like a "cool mom" I don't want to be her friend, but geez... I thought I'd be okay to go to the dance?? SO I asked why? Her response "I know how you are around music, mom. You'll dance, I'd die." She'd die?? The thought of me dancing would kill her?? Oh, well, I wouldn't want to kill her. So, I think I will call the school tomorrow and volunteer!!!

Edline

I think my blogging won't last long....nothing to exciting happens in my life and the stuff that is exciting well, I'd have to change the names and places and it would be so confusing (mostly for me) So I am still going to try, but not sure.
Tonight I am at work, I just want to say I love edline!! I got on edline tonight called home to find out what happened to one of Leia's assignments, why she hadn't turned it in...for those who don't know what edline line is it is a website where the teachers post grades, assignments, projects, losts of stuff going on at the school. But of the kids school are on edline. I was wondering if there was an edline when I was in school would I have been grounded more or less??? hmmmm????
Well I guess that is all for tonight.

Yes...I am starting a Blog now

Steve just asked "Are you starting a blog now?" Yep! I am..don't now how it will go, but here goes.
So we have been in Alaska for a year, a little over actually. We moved here in Sept of 2007. What have a found out in a year?? I love Alaska!! Okay so I don't know alot about Alaska, I know Homer, but I really like it here, I love the peolpe I work with, I night shift, I can even handle being on call and I CAN draw blood...WHO knew!!? I still miss some but I have great friends and co-workers who help out, even the doctors!!
The kids are happy. Brenden is playing hockey, Leia starting skiing last year and is awaiting snow so she can ski again this year. They are both growing up!! Leia is at least 5'6"!!
Steve is working at Spenards which is a lumber yard...kind of like a mini Lowes?? I guess. He got to fish this summer but not as much as he would have liked. He helped coach Brenden's baseball team, baseball in Homer...well, it was a short season and I don't think we'll be jumping at doing it again. Brenden just doesn't seem to be impressed with baseball, he told me after it was over he would have rather went fishing with his Dad.

We are now residents and home owners. We bought a house here last month.
Steve's parents and grandma were just here visiting, we had a great visit. I am hoping we are able to get to Illinois in May to visit. I really miss my family and friends.

So this is my first Blog...the end....
